Rail Travel

Pets are accepted in as much as travellers are not disturbed with their odour, their noise or in any other way, and on condition that it is not against any rules.

Travellers will be held responsible for all damage caused by pets under their care, unless it is proven that the damage is caused by the railway organization itself. This transport company can only be held responsible for any damage that may occur to the pet if proof is given. A passenger who has no valid ticket for his leashed pet has to pay an extra fee.

Sleeping compartments

No traffic of pets is allowed to, from or through Norway, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Spain (except in Sleeping Compartments) and consequently to Portugal and Morocco. In other countries cats and dogs are accepted in Sleeping Compartments if the entire compartment is booked. Other pets are as a rule not accepted. The fare for the pet is not taken into consideration for the number of fares necessary to rent an entire compartment. For international rail travel it is advisable to check in advance how long a train stops in the different stations in order to walk your dog.
